Problem with Flash Files

Hi Everyone,



I have create a htm template using dream weaver. At the top of the template
I have a flash banner.



I have saved the template in the stationary folder and am trying to send it
out from outlook but it tells me that "My current security setting is
prohibiting running of Active X controls on this page. As a result this page
may not display correctly"



What exactly does this message mean?

Is there a way I can change this setting?

Does this mean that the recipient will have the same problem too?

Can I do anything to prevent this from happening?

Hi Andy,

The problem is due to IE settings. Outlook uses Internet Explorer's Engine
to render the email contents. By default outlook doesn't allow such controls
to be inserted and asks for user's permission. You can change this setting by
going into Internet Explorer then tools-->internet options, Click on Security
Tab, hit Custom level... button. Enable the ActiveX controls and plugins.
This will solve the issue at your end, BUT reciepient still has the same
problem. They have to accept ActiveX installation(Assuming that recipient has
default settins).

Also, Enabling this option will make your internet more vulnerable.

And thanks for the good explanation.

So if I am not able to use flash is there anything else that I can use to
solve this problem? I know I can use animated gif but they are so large and
the quality is not the same.

Not if your recipient has at least half of a brain and disables active
content in his mail.
