Problem with Forms built in FP2003

I've looked all over this forum for someone with a similar problem before
bothering you guys, but I can't find anything, so here goes.

I am building a website in FP2003 and when I published the site to the
server for testing I got an error message when I submitted each of the forms
that says 'user: error, please contact webmaster or site administrator
'webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more details'

The event log message description was:
Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:
Error connecting to WAM to delete app roots.

Then when I went to the help and support center link provided
I got this:

Details
ID: 1000
Source: FrontPage 5.0

"We're sorry.
There is no additional information about this issue in the Error and Event
Log Messages or Knowledge Base databases at this time. You can use the links
in the
Support area to determine whether any additional information might be
available elsewhere. Thank you for searching on this message....."

It is a windows 2003 server and it does have share point services and server
extensions installed. It is in a remote location and when I was ready to test
I loaded the web onto a CD and went over there to test. The server has
FP2002 installed, and I was able to build a from using that and it worked
fine when published.
Is there a way around this without having to rebuild the site using FP2002?

Loaded onto a CD might be the issue.
How did you move the web from the CD onto the server??

If you simply copied the files from the CD, all of the files have been
set to read only.

To fix this, open the copy on the CD in FrontPage, and "Publish" it to
the server.

Copy the web from the CD to a folder on the Server's HD, then remove all read-only attributes, then
open this folder in FP, and publish it to the final location on the server via http, if this is a
problem, then you will need publish from another PC that has internet access to the server.

Then you need to copy it and change the attributes from read only and
publish, as Tom Rowe suggested.

Thanks Thomas, and thanks Steve before you. I appreciate your time.

I will try what you suggested tomorrow Thomas and post back. I'm about to
leave work for the day right now. I will say that I have already zipped and
emailed myself the web that I had saved onto the server hard drive and opened
it in FP2002 and tried to publish it to the http site from my notebook. That
was unsuccessful as well. However, I did not remove the read only attributes
before doing so, maybe that is the trick.

The way that works for me is to launch
Microsoft Explorer, scroll to the folder
in question, highlight it, right-click the
mouse, choose Properties, and uncheck
the Read-Only attributes checkbox.

Thanks Joe,
But I can't get the folder to retain the changes when I deselect "Read Only"
using the methood you described. It looks like it is copying something when I
click apply, but when I look at the properties again, the 'read only' box is
checked again. I made a new cd and sent it over to our server people and
they are going to try it again over the weekend when our web traffic is
lower. I don't know why they won't give me rights to publish directly to the
http location myself. I have a copy of the current website, and everything on
this new site is mine and will be maintained by me and we are the only
company using that particular http address, oh and I've worked here for over
10 years. I can't help but think that it would probably work if I published
it from here, the PC I built the website on. There is probably just some
hidden file that isn't copying. They seem to think the problem is because I
built it in FP 2003 and they are trying to publish it from FP2002.

you a silly question. You are trying to change the
properties of a folder on your hard drive? You're
not trying to reset the read-only attributes of a folder
on a CD-ROM, right? You can't change the read-
only atributes on a CD-ROM.
