Problem with french keyboard while using Office XP Components

One of the users on my network is French speaking and prefers the use of a
French keyboard but for some reason some of the Ctrl + Alt functions don`t
work when she is using any of the Office XP programs. The same symbols will
type correctly from Word Pad etc.
