problem with genuine copy

I purchased a retail copy of Office Professional 2007. I installed it
successfully and all programs indicate they are activated. However, whenever
I start any of the programs I still get notice that I need to activate the
programs - and indicates I have 6 days left to activate. I have tried several
suggested solutions to no avail. Please help. I can't afford to get this
thing stall on me.

You uninstalled any Trial version of Office & Its Activation Assistant
first, then rebooted prior to installing from cd?
You have then actually Activated your installation?

I did not have any trial version of the software. I had preinstalled software
that worked for the last two years and after a recent update started failing
the genuine test. I uninstalled everything and purchased the current retail
copy which worked fine for two weeks until last week's update. It's now
telling me it's not activated even though every element (Word, Exel, Access,
Powerpoint, etc) show they are activated. Beginning to wonder if this is an
on-going ploy to get people purchasing MS copies repeatedly. What now?

You had a pre-installed Trial version. You had to remove that (uninstall) along with
the Activation Assistant and then install your purchased Office version

What you need to do now is to uninstall all references for Office from the
Add\Remove and ALSO the Activation Assistant and then re-install your newly
purchased Retail version of Office.
Before doing the above make sure that you have saved all the necessary data files
that you intend to keep
