Problem with installing my program on Vista

This isn't probably the place to post this question but I'll try it here and
maybe someone can give me an answer. My program install fine on Windows 98,
XP, 2000, but I've just had a client purchase the a new laptop with Vista, no
the program gives them an error message "The office system pack cannot be
installed on this system because it requires Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 or
later." I had this message a long time ago and Tech support at MS told me to
remove a line from the ospfilelist.txt file in the package wizard directory.
After I removed that everything has worked great. I'm using Office XP 2002
developer, I've now got a laptop with Vista on it and have been trying
everything I can think of. I've been running the Process monitor but it
doesn't show any errors. I've sent 10 e-mails to MS and have only received
one reply telling me to remove the same line in the ospfilelist.txt that I
did before. Ok now after all this does anybody out there have some answer
for me. I could really use the help.

Have you tried changing the compatibility of the program, to see if
that resolves the issue?
Perhaps this would allow you to run it, and the Setup program thinking
that you had the right version of Windows.

(I know it's a simplistic approach, and no doubt you have tried it
already, thought I wouuld suggest it none the less)

I haven't tried that, I'm not to sure how to go about it either. I've never
used Vista and had borrowed a laptop with vista on it to try and install the
program. If you could walk me through how this is done I'll give it a try.

Right click on the .exe file, generally, the setup.exe file and click
properties.

In the properties that appear, click on the Compatibility tab.
Put a tick in "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select
Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

It might be worthwhile, also putting a tick in the "Disable Visual
Themes"
