problem with installing Office 2003 sp1

I have tried multiple times to install office 2003 sp1 update without success.
Always get installation unsuccessful warning.
Tried full-file
tried repair office
tried reinstall office
anyone got other ideas

What error are you actually seeing? Is it prompting you for a specific file
or source? Have you tried inserting your original cd in the drive?

Yes tried cd
Get update unsuccessful warning
Did try deleting the installation files cache and use the full file version
in that case did get a file request and when I used the cd it seemed to be
heading in the right direction then ended up with same installation
unsuccessful warning.
Student and teacher version of office 2003 - does that make a difference?
