Problem with Japanese Proj Pro logging into English Proj Server

I have a Japanese Windows2000 that needs Proj Pro 2002 to
connect to an English Project Server 2002.

I have installed the Japanese User Interface Pack, English
Project Professional 2002, and changed the User Interface
setting in MS Office language settings to English for
display menus and dialog boxes. This worked on a
previously configured Japanese Win2k by someone else.

Now I have installed and setup Proj Pro in the same way,
but I always get this error:

SQLState: '01000'
SQL Server 'some japanese words here' :1326
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]
ConnectionOpen (CreateFile()).

SQLState: '08001'
SQL Server 'some japanese words here': 1326
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]'some japanese words
here'

English Project Pro has no problems logging into Project
Server.

Can someone help?

Make sure that TCP is an enabled transport on your SQL server.
