problem with line spacing

Not sure if this qualifies as a numbering problem but I am making a
long list and somehow the bottom part of the document appears to be
double spaced or at least of a different line spacing from the top.

Anyone know how I can make it all the same?

I've tried the format menu with no success.

Check the following:

1. On the File menu, click Page Setup. Click the Layout tab. Make sure
that Vertical Alignment is set to "Top". Click OK.

2. Place the cursor in a paragraph with incorrect line spacing. On the
Format menu, click Paragraph. Click the Indents and Spacing tab.
Verify that Line Spacing is set to "Single", and that Spacing Before
and After are both set to zero.

If you are setting up numbering via paragraph styles (which is
recommended), you should check that the styles have the desired
settings for Line Spacing and Space Before/After.
