Problem with linespace in paragraph

When I set Linespace like 1 cm for a paragraph then there is a space
above my paragraph .
How can I remove this space? I need to set distance between lines in
paragraph not above of paragraph? Is there another way that I could set
lines distance in a paragraph.
thanx a lot

The easiest way to get around this is to reduce the top margin by the
appropriate amount. Some trial and error might be required, to get it
right.

Alternatively, check the "Dont center 'exact line height' lines" in
Tools | Options, Compatibility. The downside is that text lines will
move if some lines contain characters in a bigger font size. For
example, assume that you have three lines of text in 12 pt font size
with an exact line spacing of 1 cm (28.35 pt), and that the second
line contains a word in (say) 20 pt font size. Then the second line
will be closer to the second line than to the first. The third line
will be 3 cm below the first, as expected.

Tables make it a little more complicated... It seems as if you will
have to use the Compatibility option after all.
