I have a link on my InfoPath form which points to a document in a WSS
document library. But when a user clicks on the link the document opens
in IE (not in word) and its a read only copy of the document. I want
the link in InfoPath to behave exactly the way document links work
inside a document library which is - if user clicks on a doucment link
(inside a document library), the document opens in corresponding
application (not IE) where in the users can edit the document and save
it back to the document library (from the application itself.
For some reason if we try to put a link in InfoPath to a document in SP
doucment library it opens in IE as a read only copy. I realize that the
document library uses some javascript funtions (defined in ows.js) for
this purpose. I have no clue how I can utilize the same in my InfoPath
form. In addition I noticed that if I try to do the same inside a word
document, ie if I try to have a link inside my word document to a
document in SP library then it works fine.
Look forward to some help from the community.
