problem with microsoft office 2007 with windows vista 64 bit

Hi: I recently purchased a new Dell computer with Windows Vista 64bit as my
OS and Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 factory installed. I seem to be
having problems with Outlook. One of my problems is when I cut and paste in
an email. At times when I do this I receive an error message saying that
"Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working. A problem cased the program to
stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a
solution is available." Unfortunately there is never any solution to my
problem and the only way I could get Outlook to work again would be after I
reboot my computer.
My second issue with Outlook is when I am sending email. I have my
settings set so my mail goes directly to my outbox and it sits there until I
am ready to send the mail.
If I go to my outbox to see the mail I am sending and then try to send it
the mail never gets sent. However if I go to another folder, let's say the
inbox and then click to send mail, the mail that was sitting in my outbox
gets sent. I find this very strange for I had Windows Vista 32 bit on my old
Dell computer with Microsoft Office 2007 and I never ran into this problem.
Because my computer is less than a month old I contacted Dell and they
could not resolve my problem. They told me that there is a compatibility
issue between the 64 bit Vista and Office. Because I use Office for all my
emailing this is not sitting well with me.
What I wonder is if my problem could be resolved if I would completely
uninstall Office and then reinstall it? I did uninstall the program by using
the uninstall function in the control panel. Unfortunately all my settings
were still there when I reinstalled the program along with my problem. This
has led me to believe that the program was not completely wiped clean from my
computer when I uninstalled it.
Now I am not knowledgeable enough to go into the registry and start
deleting things. I do not want to make matters worse.
Therefore any advice you can offer as to how I could either resolve my
problem or how I would go about completely removing the program so I can do a
clean install would be most appreciated.
I hope what I have written makes sense to you. Thanks for your time and I
look forward to hearing back at your earliest convenience. Dave
