When I try to access Help in MS Office 2000 programs, the
Help window comes up, but it is just a blank, gray
window. My operating system is Win2000. I have tried
fixes suggested in MS KB article 237355. These suggested
fixes include:
.. re-registering msohelp.exe
.. Uninstalling Office, re-naming hh.exe, hhctrl.ocx,
itircl.dll and itss.dll and then re-installing Office.
.. removing the HelpViewer Registry Key

I have tried the fix suggested in Q319956, which is to
change permisssions of MsoHelpAWDlg\CLSID and
MsoHelpKeyDlg\CLSID in he Registry.

In case the problem is with a Win2000 dll, I have updated
to SP4.

None of this has solved the problem. Any other
suggestions will be graeatly appreciated!

I solved my own problem. I found an WinXP post that
recommended the following:
Use MJ's Help Diagnostics
(http://helpware.net/downloads/index.htm#MJs) to check
that all the help viewer components are properly installed
and registered. The only section of the MJ's Help Report
that is relevant to your problem is the one headed "HTML
Help Run-time Components".

Running MJsDiag.exe solved the problem.
