Problem with Office 2000 Professional & win XP-SP2

I have just installed (new) XPSP2 and, consequently, re-installed
Office Professional Now, when I open or close Word, I get an error
message "Compile error in hidden module AutoExec" It also, on
opening, says it is re-configuring Office2000.
In Excel, the messages refer to AutoExec2 on opening and DistMon on
closing.

I have tried to Repair to no available.

I would appreciate any assistance in sorting this out.
