problem with office 2003 and hotmail

I recently installed office 2003 and added my hotmail account into the mix.
Less than a day later I have 400 messages that have been returned to my
hotmail account. It isd claiming it has been sent from Office 11 and from my
IP. I have since deleted the hotmail account, but do not know why Microsoft
cannot make it's products work with one another. This has been extremely
embarassing.
