Problem with Office 2007 and Distribution Lists

I am having a problem with Distribution Lists (old and newly created) since
upgraded to Office 2007.

Emails and appointments to Distribution Lists don’t work. One very visible
symptom is that if I expand by hitting the [+] icon in the “To:†field, it
expands to a list of semicolons. I’m using XP with all the latest OS and
Office patches on a run of the mill Dell.

Any ideas before I have to reinstall Office 2003?
