Problem with Office and Blackboard Learning System

I'm running Windows XP SP2 with all updates applied and Office 2000 with all
service packs and updates applied. I am running Internet Explorer 6 and
Outlook Express. I have just started an online class that uses the
Blackboard Learning System version 6. I have seen a few other posts here
about Blackboard and hope someone can help.

Whenever I try to add or reply to threads in the Blackboard Discussion
Board, the Windows Installer pops up asking for my Office 2000 Premium SR-1
CD-ROM. Since I downloaded SR-1 from the web I don't have the CD. I do have
the downloaded zipped exe file, but it does not contain the file that the
installer is looking for: DATA1.MSI. (I do have a DATA1.MSP but that
doesn't work, says it's an invalid installation package.) The school's tech
support staff sent me to Microsoft. :(

Does anyone have any idea what Blackboard wants from the Premium disk of
Office? If I cancel the installer pop-up several times, it lets me through
to post, but that's a rather annoying workaround!
