problem with Office Assistant

Recently the Office Assistant disappears after about 10-
15 seconds; repeated clicks to keep it there fail. It's
not that I WANT it to stay, but if it doesn't, that means
something is wrong somewhere which usually means
something ELSE is also wrong. I have used the Repair
function as well as having re-loaded the program at least
twice. Anyone else have this problem? I run Windows
XP/Office 2000 Professional.

could be set too off?
Try clicking help, then office assistant,
then right click on the office assitant, it should give you a choice to shut
it off, or just hide it?
