Problem with "outbox" using gmail

I am using Outlook 2003 and have configured to use gmail. I followed all the
steps described in gmail.com on how to configure Outlook 2003 to access my
gmail account.

I have a problem:
I tried to send out mail using the gmail acct, mail went to outbox but can't
sync and now there are 2 mails sitting in outbox (as in Outbox [2]) but when
I click on the outbox, it's empty. What to do? How can I delete the outbox
email?
