I recently upgraded from Office XP to Office 2003. (I had the Smal
Business Edition of XP, which didn't come with PowerPoint, so I decide
to upgrade to Office 2003 Small Business Edition, which does hav
PowerPoint.) I mostly create outlines using Word. Something has change
since switching to Word 2003, however. Whenever I insert an ouline int
Word (Format > Bullets and Numbering > Outline Numbered) I get a Roma
numeral (I.), just as I always have. After entering my informatio
after the Roman numeral and hitting enter, Word automatically moves t
Roman numeral two (II.)--just like always. However, when I press th
tab key, Word leaves the Roman numeral (II.) in place and tabs ove
rather than moving on to the next sub-level--in my case, capita
letters (A.). I can't get Word to move to the next sub-level using th
tab key, which is the only way I know how to do it. I'm using th
"Outline Numbered" section, not "Numbered," so that's not the problem
My outline is set up to produce the following results: I. A. 1. a. (1
(a) and so on. I didn't have this problem before switching to Wor
2003.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated
