Problem with Outlook automation from Access after installing 2007

I use automation to open and send an Outlook email from within my Access 2007
application. This has been working perfectly for several years (even after
the upgrade from Office 2002 to Office 2007), but since installing Office
2007 SP2 an issue has arisen. The Outlook email window opens with the
various fields filled in correctly, but when I click on Send the Outlook
window says it is unable to connect to Exchange, and the email can't be
sent. What alerted me to the problem is that the names in the To and CC
boxes are not underlined, which apparently means the names can't be verified
against the address book when the Outlook window opens. I've found, however,
that if I click on the names in the To and CC fields and make any kind of
change to them, Outlook then confirms the name against the address book and
the email can be sent. Unfortunately, some of these emails have multiple
names in them so this is somewhat of an inconvenience for my users. I've had
our network guys looking at this from the Exchange side, but they haven't
been able to find anything they can do on Exchange that affects this issue.

Nothing has changed on my machine except for the SP2 installation. I use
late binding, so I haven't had a reference to the Office library in the
Access references list. I tried adding the reference to the Outlook library,
but it
had no effect - the problem still occurs. This problem also occurs with this
application on machines that have not yet had Office SP2 installed, which
leads me to believe that something changed within Access that is causing the
problem (the database application was compiled on a machine with SP2
installed). I originally posted this question in the Access newsgroups, but
it was suggested that I post it here instead.

Has anyone else seen this issue? As I said, all I did was install Office SP2
on my machine, recompile the database, and the problem began. Any ideas on
where to look for a possible solution?

Thanks for any information,

Carl Rapson
