Hi,
We run a Mircosoft Exchange server 2003 enviroment with Outlook 2003 clients
on Windows XP.
At the beginning of this week users on site began to have issues with
Outlook Personal Folders, they found that they could not access them. This
did not affect everybody but it did happen to a large amount of people. I
got the users to remove and re-add the personal folders, which fixes the
problem temporarily, however the problem does come back. I have also tried
getting them to create new Personal folders but once again after a while the
problem happens again.
It happens to Personal Folders in the old 97-2002 format as well as the new
Outlook 2003 format.
We thought that the problem was down to Windows Critical Patches which I
rolled out on Friday last week, however the problem is happening to people
who did not recieve the patches.
I have also rolled out Symantec Antivirus updates, so this may have caused
the problem but I cannot find anything on the internet about any similar
problems.
I also thought that it may be an issue with one of our servers, but the same
problem happens to people who save their Personal Folders locally.
As you can imagine this problem has us stumped, so if anyone can give me a
solution, I would be very grateful.
Thank you,
David.
