Problem with pictures not showing in Print mode in WORD 2003

I have a frustrating problem. I routinely use artwork/pictures in Word and
place them in the desired location using PRINT LAYOUT. As I move up and down
through pages, the pictures will not re-draw themselves. If I change the
window size, they will again appear, then some will disappear if I move up
and down through the pages again. If I switch to READING LAYOUT (and only
this layout), I will always see the pictures. I have a very fast HP computer,
with 2 gig of memory and a X600 Pro ATI video card so I don't believe it is
hardware issue. I have changed a number of settings in WORD and my VIDEO card
without success. Does anyone know why WORD will not 'refresh' the display and
these pictures? I never have problems with text. Thank you.

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control
Panel | Display | Settings | Advanced | Troubleshooting. If this
fixes the problem, then you might want to check the ATI website
to see if there is an updated video driver available.

Thank you!

Adjusting the acceleration setting to a lower value indeed fixed the problem.
