Hi James,
Some grahic formats, such as PNG, have an option of
storing within the graphic the Pixels Per Inch value
to be used when displaying the graphic and determining
its display size.
If the graphic does not contain a stored value then
Word relies on your Pixel per inch setting (72 to 400)
in Tools=>Options=>General=>Web Options=>Pictures
to calculate the display size of the graphic based on
the pixel unit dimensions of the graphic.
You can use MS Office Photo Editor (prior to Office 2003)
or
http://www.irfanview.com or other graphics apps to
store that value in a PNG graphic if no value was stored.
MS Office Photo Editor is not a default install for\
Office XP but can be added from Add/Remove Programs in
the Windows Control Panel (Microsoft Office XP choice)
if it does not appear in Start=>Run=>Microsoft Office Tools
=======
Does anyone know how to get PNG files to display at the correct native
resolution/size in Word (2002 on WinXP)? When I insert, using
Insert>Picture>From File (Link to File), the image displays at a
magnified size.
TiA
James. >>
