Problem with preview pane in Open Dialog Box

My user wants to open a file, brings up the dialog box, wants to check which
file she needs, highlights the first file to see and switches to the preview
mode. Office 2000 would show the highlighted file. Office XP is now
jumping back to the first file in the list. Is there anyway to make Office
XP act like Office 2000 did? charlie

I now have two users requesting me to uninstall Office XP to go back to
Office 2000. The other user (and others) don't like trying to search for
files by typing in part of the name. For example, they search for all the
documents with Oppenheimer and will just type opp and see all the documents
that start with opp. Now all they get is one document. They really need
this function to get their work done they way they used to. Almost seems
like microsoft is taking features away from the users... charlie
