problem with printing a text box

The secretary at a church I support is having a problem with a Word document
she received. She uses Word 2003 but I don't know what version was used to
create the document. The first page of the document has what appears to be a
text box titled Dates to Remember. Clicking on View/Print Layout looks just
fine, with the text box on the left side of the page and the body of the
document on the right. But click on Print Preview and the text box goes away.
If you actually send the document to the printer, the text box does not
print. This document looks and prints fine on other computers in the church
office so it's got to be a problem with this particular copy of Word. Another
hint would be that clicking on File shows Page Setup grayed out. Can anyone
tell me what setting needs to be checked. For example, is it possible to
enable/disable text boxes in Word 2003?

Thanks

It's an option setting. Go to Tools > Options > Print and check the
box for "Drawing objects". (Word considers text boxes to be a type of
drawing object.)

You nailed it! thanks. She just told me about this yesterday after just
ignoring the problem for a couple months.
