I use Office 2000. I have inherited a Word document that contains form
fields. The document is protected. It also contains a number of Excel
worksheets, which contain unlocked cells for users to complete - in the
locked cells, hidden formulae then calculate totals. I needed to change the
wording (not the formulae) in the worksheet, so i unprotected it and unlocked
all the cells. However, when I locked the cells I needed to (leaving the user
input cells unlocked) and protected the worksheet again, I found i could
access any cell in the worksheet from Word. What is more, when I tried to
re-protect the Word document, Word crashed completely.
I'm fairly fluent in Word & Excel, but this is all new to me and I can't
find anything in the help sections.
Any ideas out there?
