Problem with PWA and WSS

Peter Sirmis

Hi,

I'm trying to access the project folder under Risks in Project Web
Access, but I am getting the error message;

"The documents, risks and issues features in Project Web Access use
Windows SharePoint Services.

There is a problem establishing a connection with the Web server running
Windows SharePoint Services. Contact your system administrator."

The same thing is experienced by other users as well.

Any ideas?

Peter

Assuming you are using MS Ineternet explorer, with the standard
buttons(toolbar), click on Tools, then Internet Options. Click the Security
Tab. You will see a set of domains, ranging from Internet, Trusted Sites,
Local intranet and Restricted Sites. Click on Trusted Sites, then click the
Sites button. If your Project Server site is a trusted site, then the URL
will be listed. If it isn't you can add the site, using the Add function. Pay
attention to the SSL option in the window. We do not use Secure Sockets on
our server so this option is not checked in our environment.

.

You will usually need to set the Trusted Sites zone to "Low" as well via the
Default button.

Peter:

You can download the installation guide which discusses how to use the proxycfg tool if that's the root of the issue. Ultimately you need to figure out what changed or what's forcing a change.
