Problem with QueuePublish method

C

Chris C

Hello everyone.

We use QueuePublish method to publish all projects every night, saving our
PM some admin time. The approved tasks updates do not get published however.
Anyone else experienced this ? Is this the expected behavior ? I was under
the impression that unpublished but approved tasks updates would get
published at this time using this method.

Clarifying Questions:

1. Are there any queue or ULS errors?

2. Does the same issue occur when publishing normally?

3. After a failure, when opening the project using Pro, does the
approved but not published time still show up?

4. What patchlevel are you on?

5. Does this occur for all projects, or only particular projects?

6. To make sure my understanding is correct, you have PMs
receiving updates and approving them manually, but you have an automated
process that publishes all projects each night?

Good Day Stephen,

1-There are no errors in the queue (nor in the ULS logs)
2-No. If I manually publish the project, the approved updates are published
3-Yes, if I open the project after "automated publish", the updates are shown
in the plan (and we use the Full publish parameter for the method)
4-infra pdate + august cumul update
5-Occurs for all projects
6-You are right.

Good Day Stephen,

they are not in the Published version. They show up in the working copy
(that comes from the DRAFT DB I believe).

Chris,

I would recommend that you install the August 2008 CU
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956061). There are several fixes around
Actuals not showing up in plans upon publish - one of them may fix your
issue. I would deploy to Dev first to test.

There is also a client-side (956060) and WSS fix (956057) you should
install (after the IU has been installed), along with the MOSS one
(956056) if necessary.
