Problem with report

I tried to ask this on the reports area but got zero response. Is this to
easy or is there no answer? I have tried everything to eliminate the problem
but nothing seems to work. It now does not work in Access 2003 either.
Interesting, it has work at client site for three years or more until they
installed Access 2007. ANY ideas???

I have a report that I created with Access 2003 that is 8 1/2 x 3 1/2
inches. It worked great in Access 2003, but in Access 2007 it prints the 1st
page ok (info centered where I want it), but prints the info on the 2nd page
moved to the top of the page (almost like there is no margin). The strange
thing is that after the bad 2nd page, all other pages print just fine.?.?
The pages selected to print are entered in a range from a query. Thanks WWV

Wayne, I am not sure but have you done anything to affect the grouping
between the header and the first record? If the first field is a Memo, its
size may be too large to fit on the first page. Play around with the
settings in Group & Sort on the Format ribbon for the report.

But understand that I have not mastered Access reports because I prefer to
use Word for reports based on Access tables and queries. And so far I have
not created a single report in Access 2007.

I appreciate the return comment. The group and sort has no entries and never
did. I'm at wits end and with the lack of response I'm begining to think
this is a "no solve" problem. If you or anyone else has ideas, please pass
along. I fear it's a basic problem with Access.

Wayne, I can understand your frustration but I have also discovered that what
seems to be a problem with Access is always a lack of my knowledge of the
program. In other words, Access always kicks my butt until I invest time in
understanding how it works in a certain situation.

And unlike many Access users I do not like its reporting functionality. You
may consider outputting your data to Word or consider using Crystal Reports.
I only create Access reports for simple output. When I need to control the
formatting, I use Word. You can create Word macro to strip out text that you
don't need like the footers. Each user will need the macros on their PC. If
you are in a small office, this shouldn't be a big problem. In a company
with a thousand users, you will need to get it install the macros
enterprisewide. (I am always surprised how few people have created a library
of Word macros and customized Word to perform all their routine operations.)

The best that I can do is have you send me record 1 and I can play with it
in Access 2007. In the meantime I suggest that you study Sorting and
Grouping in Reports. I really suspect that this is the culprit, and in some
way is related to the size of your print pages. Or it is possible that the
combination of Office 2007 and Vista if you are running it is the culprit.
Unfortunately, diagnosing such problems may have to be done on site.

My cust upgraded to VISTA, I did not. I copy their db to a stick using win
explorer and the put it on my machine which is still runing Access 2003. I
have included a small db with the tbl, mac, qry, report. The qry asks for
beg rec and then end rec for printing. Let me know if this shed light.

No, and no. By the nature of USENET the attachments have now propagated to
thousands of news servers worldwide. Most of them do not honor Delete requests
due to the prevalance of forged deletes.

That horse is now out of the barn.

I've had the same problem when printing address labels. The first record
prints fine, the second one is shifted up by a slight amount (you can see it
jump
when you move to it in print preview), and the third and all succeeding
records print
fine.

I haven't seen any solution for it yet.
