Problem with Saved property in Word automation

M

Martin Roy

Hi, I have an embedded word document in my application and when I change
from a document to another, I check the Saved property. If it's FALSE, I ask
the user if he want to save the document...

When the document is opened saved property are TRUE. The problem happens
after several seconds (about 10 secs), the Word application underline the
words that it does not recognize (automatic dictionnary) and doing that,
Word set the Saved property to FALSE... Even if there was no users changes
in the document...

Is there a way to know that a real change has be made in the document, or to
get the Saved property correctly ?

Thank you...

Turn off the auto recognition for spell check (that's under Tools/Options) or
format the text so that it won't be spell checked (Tools/Language/Set language)
or train the user to correct all spelling errors before he closes the document
(or force him to do so by not allowing him to exit as long as there are
spelling errors in the document).
