Problem with Sent Folder

Hey, I often times search thru my sent folde for older items, which I'll do by typing a letter to alphabetically go to certain messages. For some reason when I click on a message now, it starts editing the subject line as oppose to skipping to a message that begins with the types letter. I did screw around with the options recently so I'm sure it's my fault but I can't figure out a solution. Please help - thanks.

While in that view go to the View menu > Current View > Customize Current
View > Click Other Settings. Uncheck "Allow in-cell editing"
