Problem with shifting pictures/text

I'm not sure what's up here.. but I've had some problems with pictures in
publisher vs what they show on the published web page.

For example. Backgrounds are smaller in publisher and larger on the
physical web page, causing me to do lots of guess work to get things to line
up if I need things to match the background.

Also, when I put pictures into publisher itself, line them up with text, and
publish the page, the text is shifted from where it was originally in
publisher, and thus makes my pictures in the wrong place. It does this in
preview web page too, but it's different looking from both publisher and the
actual web page.

I'm betting there's a setting to make the text NOT change from where I have
it placed in publisher and for it to show actual size of the background, but
where that is, I can't find it.

There are lots of things that can cause shifting. When it comes to text you
should not use special paragraph formatting as you do in a print document.
Try to limit yourself to font color, face and size...and use fixed even
sizes of web fonts. If you use an 11 point font size it will be reduced to a
10 point font size for example when you convert to html. If you use a non
web font, it can be converted to an image...

Backgrounds and other things shifting? Hard to say without seeing an example
of what you are talking about. Sometimes you just have to keep tweaking to
get things to look right. If you want to post a link to an example, we would
be happy to try to sort it out.
