Problem with spread sheets after 10.4.7 update

All my spread sheets are loused up after the intel 10.4.7 update. For
instance date 7/5/06 appears as 7506 (style is 3 ???), numbers do not have
decimal points even though the style is to show 2decimal points with 1000's
have a comma. All data sheets are now wrong. How can I get things back in
order?

I forgot to mention I am using office X. In a desperate move I restarted the
system and now everything is back in order. Has anyone else experienced this
frustration?
