Problem with successive Hyperlinking in Excel 2010

I have a multiple sheet workbook, the first page is a "navigation
page" which contains several buttons with hyperlinks to the other
pages, each page also has a "home" button which hyperlinks back. The
problem is the "navigation page" does not activate unless a cell is
clicked on the page. Meaning a user can click a hyperlink to go to a
page, then click the "home" button to go back, but to successively go
to another page they must click the sheet *then* hit the next
hyperlink button. Why won't my navigation page stay active?

Thanks

Did you include the target cell on the 'home' page in your sheet
navigator hyperlinks?

Yes, every hyperlink is referenced to A1 for each sheet including all
home buttons. Every hyperlink works correctly except when going *back*
to the navigation page (Home), even if you click on the worksheet tab
it won't activate the sheet until I click a cell on the sheet itself.
No other sheet in my workbook is doing this, except the navigation
(home) page.

I can't seem to duplicate the problem. My hyperlinks work as expected,
meaning when I return to my index sheet I only need to click a
hyperlink to navigate to another sheet.

Same for me. If I open a new sheet and redo the hyperlinks it works
fine. I've been troubleshooting why this workbook is having a problem.
Unfortunately, I have too much calculation work and formatting to
simply copy into a new workbook. I can send a small portion of my
workbook if you'd like.

Perhaps the workbook is 'corrupt'! In this case you need to rebuild it
from scratch in a new workbook. Maybe your sheets will copy over
without issue, but I'd do one at a time starting with your navigation
page followed by each sheet it links to (one by one). If you test the
behavior after each copy you might find where the problem lies.

Optionally, you could try replacing the hyperlinks and use the
HYPERLINK() function in its place on the individual sheets.
