Please, check this: Open a New Form in a Design View. Lay down a Textbox, a
Combo Box and a Checkbox. Save the form and open it again.

Are the Backgrounds of the Objects sunken or flat? In my Access 2003
(11.6355.6360 with SP1) the sunken effect is set as a default and the
result is flat. It is impossible to set sunken effect until the Border
Width is changed to 3 points first and then 'flat' can be replaced by
'sunken'.

The similar result can be achieved if you set the object background into
Shadowed Effect and after that it is allowed to be change into sunken
effect.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to set a sunken effect in a checkbox.

Anyway, this is a strange and unpleasant MS Effect especially if work
several months in Access 2000 and have to make mde files in Access 2003.
All the forms are distorted and there is no easy way to repair them.

If anybody knows anything about this problem, I'd like to hear it.

Thanks to you all.

Who are you Mr. Reynolds? An Access MVP? You had written just a few simple
words and have solved my problem by a single check box!

And why do I feel myself so empty now? After so many lost days spent for
nothing while looking for the right solution. ...

Thank you for your time.

Happy to have helped. Hopefully, those 'lost days' may not be for nothing in
the long run - with luck, you may find that some of the information you
found, while it did not solve this problem, will help you to solve future
problems.
