In addition to the below post -
The upload that I did with the print area set (and hardly any other
changes!!) has been rejected :-(
I am at a total loss to understand why...! Is there any any any way to
send
a request to Msft and get the actual problem????
:-(

Yes. I did see this note, but somehow what I recall is different. But
I
may
be wrong since, it was quite sometime back and more over, it was
before I
had
made my hands dirty with templates! And, yes, it definitely comes on
the
profile page immediately after submission (with status "Processing").
Reg download counter... my guess would be it would not reset the
counter...
but both ways have their own logical points... so not sure which path
has
MS
taken
Thanks a ton.

I don't recall reading anything about instantaneous updates.
Wait.
On this page,
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/HP101170921033.aspx, it
does say
this:
The new version of your template will show up on your profile page
as
soon
as you submit it.
Does the new version show up on your profile page immediately?
I don't know about the download counter. Good question!

Hi Echo! That sounds great. I have updated my template and
re-submitted.
Though the template is a trusted one, the update seems to have
taken
the
normal processing route! (I seem to remember reading in this site
somewhere
that the updates would be instantaneous in the case of trusted
templates!!).
Since the old verison also has to be taken out... I guess it would
be
a
loss
of 2 days :-( Anyway... no other go.. wait & watch
Will the download counter get reset when we submit updates??? (I
hope
not
!!)
Thanks again.

:
I found out what the issue with the preview was. (Thanks for
including a
link to an example of one of the problem files. I don't know
which
thread
that was in, or I'd respond to it.)
Anyway, if no print area is set, the community templates
thumbnail
generator
takes a snapshot of the first cell. Set your print area, then
resubmit
your
template and the preview should be fixed.

I have uploaded 2 excel templates with "Save Preview" option
checked.
Still,
the preview image of the templates is NOT the first worksheet
but
an
enlarged
image of a small image placed on the Cell A1.
Any idea what is this issue due to and how to solve this??
