Hi there,
I am trying to create a TOC for a Word 2000 (SP3) which has numbered
headings (heading1, 2, 3)
in the document, word creates them with hierarchical justification just
so:
1. title1
2. title2
3 title3
4. title4
4.1 title44
4.2 title444
thats fine, but in the TOC, it messes up everything like this:
1. title1
2. title2
3. title3
4. title4
4.1. title44
4.2 title444
where headings 1-4 are just heading1 style.. only from 4.1 do I start
going into deeper levels.
In desperation, I resigned to having a non hierarchical TOC, all
flushed to the left, by resetting the TOC styles to be flushed with no
justification but this produces a very strange phenomenon:
this works at first, i.e. if I delete the TOC and re-insert it, it
comes up like this:
1. title1
2. title2
3 title3
4. title4
4.1 title44
4.2 title444
I can live with that, but if I right click it and select "update field
I delete the TOC and re-insert it, it will come up as above..
what can I do... ?
Thanks

it scrambles up the TOC again as in the previous example... but then Ifupdate entire table"
I delete the TOC and re-insert it, it will come up as above..
what can I do... ?
