Problem with View in EQuation Editor in MS Word

I have the "edit in separate window" for equation editor which I'm using for
the first time. I am trying to increase the size of the equation by selecting
View from the top menu bar and then choosing 400%. My problem is that when I
select View, all the options are grayed out.
