Problem with Windows XP

I made a small Access app that starts up with a form.
With Windows 98, I used to be able to access the
underlying tables, forms, and programming (and therefore
bypassing the start-up form), by highlighting the
application in Windows Explorer, pressing the shift key
and then double clicking the app name that I highlighted
(sort of a back door way in). Now Windows XP does not
allow me to do this anymore...Does anyone know how to
access the underlying design stuff when using Windows XP?

Thanks in advance,
Claudine

It is still the same. I regularly use the Shift Bypass Key in Windows XP
and various versions of Access.

I guessed you haven't been tinkering with the AllowBypassKey and you haven't
converted the file into an MDE?

Thanks for your help and the great link to Access info.
My app was indeed converted to an mde file. Previously,
with Windows 98 I was still able to gain limited access
to tables and forms (but not the Visual Basic) of an MDE
file using the shift bypass key. I was startled when I
could no longer do so with XP... Upon further
investigation, I discovered that I could still gain
limited access in XP thru the menu bar when my app
started, under 'Tools' and 'Start-up Utilities'
Thanks again.
