Problem with Word and XP Office Pro

After updating my computer through microsoft I get this problem when I try to
run Word. Windows installer says it is preparing to install XP Office Pro
with Front Page. It is looking for PROPLUS.MSI to complete the
configuration. Is there any way to eliminate this problem.

PROPLUS.MSI provides information to the Windows Installer for your
Office installation. If it is missing/corrupt/incorrect then you will
encounter the message you described. To correct it you will need to
zap the Windows Installer entries in the Registry and reinstall
Office.

Microsoft created a utility for this purpose, called the Windows
Installer Cleanup Utility, which you need to download and use it to
remove only the reference to Office. Once that is complete then you'll
need to reinstall Office to point the Windows Installer to your
installation CD:
