Problem with Wordpad for windows 98

when I try to open a .doc file , especially one sent inm
an email i get this message : WORDPAD caused an invalid
page fault in
module MSWRD832.CNV at 0177:0140f6d5.
This happens even if I save it to disk...when I create my
own .doc file, it opens fine...any help would be
appreciated
