I use ms word 2003. For long docs I use doc map for navigation through
my long document. Using a numbered outline with lots of (sub) headings
the document map becomes a collapseable hierarchical navigation tree.
If a certain node is uncollapsed (expanded) its "icon" in the tree is a
small square with a minus "-" in it. If the node is fully collapsed its icon
is a square with a "plus "+" in it. In this way you know when you are seeing
a plus you can click on it and the tree will be expanded.
I notice a "bug" or an "unpredictable feature" that, after editing the file
considerably, collapsed nodes that have subnodes do not have the plus icon,
but they keep having the minus icon. This is confusing.
If I do "select all" and copy/paste into a new file the problem remains.
