Problemm With "Drop Down" boxes

Is anyone else having a problem with Drop Down menus in Office 2007 (OS =
Windows XP Media Edition)?

In Excel, using the Drop Down box for going to a named range causes Excel to
abort and send an ettor message to Microsoft. If I just type in the name of
the range it works fine.

In Outlook 2007, Using the Drop Down box to change the default setting for
composing new messages (Tools/Options/Mail Format) causes the same error. I
can type in the new format (HTML) and it works fine.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled from the original CD and installed Office
2007 SP-1.
