problems accessing main identity via correct version of Entourage

Because of problems with Word in Office 2004 for Mac I reinstalled Word from
the CD but then Entourage etc wouldn't open. I have now upgraded from 11.0
to 11.2.0 and then 11.2.1 but when I try to open Entourage I get this
message: "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage." I
have also tried to import everything into the Apple Mail program but it also
cannot access Entourage. (I haven't yet upgraded beyond this because I don't
think I did that earlier and as I am on dial up it will take more than 5
hours.) Any suggestions???
