Problems accessing updates and projects

When logging in as an administrator, I get the following error when trying to
accessing the Projects tab:
ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e78'

Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.

/projectserver/Library/pjquery.asp, line 597

When accessing the Updates tab, it just keeps saying 'Loading Data'. The
users also cannot access their tasks.

I am using MDAC 2.8 SP1 on WINDOWS XP SP2. I do not have any extra toolbars
and I tried turning the pop-up blocker off and that did not change anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you provide a little background info? Has this system ever worked? How
is it setup? New install?

Gary -

Yes, I should have done that originally. This is actually a pretty old
install. We have been running on this version of Server successfully for
about 3 years. We were mid-cycle in time reporting (about 15 users reported
actuals) and then all of a sudden, everyone started to get a hanging 'Loading
Data' page.

As an admin, we get the same thing on the Updates Page and the error
described below on the Projects Page. Nothing should have changed on the
Server to cause this. We do not have the server set up with Sharepoint or
any other system - it is completely stand-alone. Any help would be strongly

When things suddenly go awry for a bunch of folks, the first place to look
is at what suddenly changed in the environment. Is your SQL server still
healthy? Any new security measures on the network? New updates to the
server? Have you spoken with your infrastructure folks?
