Problems after installing Office 2008 for mac

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I've had problems with my new iMac since I installed Office 2008 for mac.

The easiest to describe is a disruption of the text in multiple websites. For example, in the AllBusiness.com website "x's" and "-" are either just dropped entirely of replaced by apostrophes.

In addition the restart has become painfully slow.

I have now uninstalled it but understand some of the preference files need to bee deleted, but I don't know which ones.

Has anyone else had this experience and, if so, successfully resolved it?

If an application like Safari was open when you installed, it could affect
that application's fonts. Usually, restarting, Repair Permissions and
clearing font caches fixes this. Links for tools to clear caches:

I would run the Apple combo again to clear up any corrupted files, clear
