Problems Connecting to FileMaker Pro 8 - Excel 2004

I am running Office 2004 and just installed FileMaker Pro 8. When I go to
Data->Get External Data->Import FileMaker Pro..., all of my fp7 databases
are grayed out. This is the first time I¹ve tried this, so is there some
other set-up I need to perform an import?

OS X 10.4.2., 2 Gb RAM, PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz, and Office 2004 SP2.

fp7 databases are not compatible with XL04. Filemaker significantly
changed its file format shortly before Office04 was released, too late
for MacBU to include the new format. Don't have FMP8, so I don't know if
it's possible to save in the fp6 format, but you can export/import to XL
from within FMP.
