Problems connecting to Project Server Database

Good Afternoon,
I am trying to connect to my project server using project professional. I
get all the way passed the authentication and then I get an error saying that
the network may be having problems, or project server database or other
errors. I have verified that everything is up and running and the connection
to the database is okay. Any ideas what is wrong?

Has your Project Server administrator included you in the Project Managers
group in Project Web Access?

Yes, I am the administrator and the project manager. The issue does not seem
to be one of authentication but of database access.
