problems executing mailmerge with Outlook Contacts from Word2003

Simply cannot do it. From Word, if you follow the
Wizard, you'll get into an endless loop regarding the
selection of the Contacts folder in your Outlook. From
there, you never get the ability to refine your list,
make changes to your envelope, etc.. You only get the
error message, "This operation cannot be completed
because of dialog or database engine failures. Please
try again later." PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER! Please beat
your head against this brick wall later, you dum-dum!
This may be yet another stupid user error, but I highly
doubt it. Does anyone have some advice for doing this
correctly? Printing envelopes using a Mail Merge should
be one of the most basic things people do on a computer!
Thanks for any and all help.

We really can't begin to help with what little you posted. It's obvious to
you what you did, but not to us. We weren't there watching. Starting tips:
1. What "Wizard?" Hint: Use the mail merge toolbar, not the mail merge Task
Pane
2. Ensure that you are using your default Contacts Folder as the data source
for the merge and that Outlook is your default mail and Contacts manager.
3. Ensure that your default Outlook profile has the Outlook Address Book
Service installed and configured correctly.
