Problems forwarding pdf files

When I try to forward an email with pdf file atached in Entourage, the file
is not attached in the forwarded message. For a while, the workaround was to
"forward as attachment", but now that does not work either. What happens now
is that the pdf file is attached, but the file extension is changed from *.
pdf to *.emi. What is the problem here and what is the fix?
Thanks,
RMB

What size are these files? Exactly what error are you getting? Have you
tried compressing the file?

Diane,
The file is not large (245kb). No error message is generated. The pdf file
is somehow "magically" converted to a file with an .emi extension.
Thanks, Rick

Correction: The extension is .eml not emi

If you are fully updated then test in a new Identity.

Under Entourage in the Menu bar, select Switch Identity
Click on New and create a test Identity with at least one account for
testing. You might want to set under the Options tab to "leave on server"
for the test.

If you put Entourage in Work Offline mode, then you can force just a send on
a test message without downloading any messages. Just select Connect when
you try to send.

Good thought, but I already have the most recent updates and by the way, I am
using Entourage 2008. Rick

Are you sure you have received the entire message before forwarding it as
attachment? In your Account Settings, on the Option tab, do you have
"Partially receive messages" checked? If so, then you must manually download
any message whose size (including attachments, if any) is larger than the
size you have set. You can do that from the link at the top of the message
or the command Receive Entire Message from the Message menu.

Receiving partial messages is not checked and the pdf files are complete and
nor are they too large to be a problem. Rick
